I've always loved old stuff. Growing up in the rust belt I was surrounded by past relics that I came across everywhere from the forests of my rural neighborhood to the downtown of Cleveland, OH. Rusty cars, old beer cans, my grandfather's old leather jackets; none of it will ever fade from my memory. And something that's well made will fight the test of time from both a physical and a cultural outlook.
My uncle used to always say "Buy it once and buy it right." That ethos is the driving force behind what I do. I want to make things that last. Like an old Chippewa boot or a trusted pocket knife. Quality and style can go hand in hand. Like fashion and function, they make a great child. My work falls somewhere among that, or at least I hope so.
I revert back to the past as a source of inspiration and reassurance. My style is a reflection of my outdoor explorations, encounters with interesting people, and the random things I collect from my journeys. My goal is to never stop trying new things but to always be trustworthy in my production.
